I’m planning to buy a HP Laptop. What qualities/characteristics should it have? I also don’t want anything too expensive and too high tech.

I got an HP laptop and here’s what I did:
1. Walked into Best Buy
2. Told the computer people exactly what I wanted and needed.
3. Refused all attempts at offering "upgrades," "premiums," and "add-ons."
4. Paid the little fee to have them set it all up and get it running properly for me.
5. Buried the "free" Vista disk I got with the computer somewhere out in the country and continued to run on XP.
6. Lived happily ever after.
My lappy was just over $1000 US and I bought it a year ago in January. Still does everything I need it to and a lot of stuff I don’t, but it’s goodto have room to grow some. I love my laptop

good internal memory you should be looking at 80GB!
and a good ram of preferably above 128MB!
don’t do it. If you buy an HP laptop, the only thing HP will mean to you is, "help please!"
My HP laptop’s hard drive crashed within a year of my buying it. I really don’t recommend HP.
Have you considered a Mac? I switched to Mac after that fateful crash, and would never consider going back to PC.
